Here in store we are often asked about Tappits and Patchwork Cutters, either by customers wanting to know how they are used, or customers who have used them but without success, so we thought we would let you know our method for achieving great results and in turn making your life a little easier
First of all you need to use Petal Paste/Flower Paste/Gum Paste etc. this is essential as you can roll these pastes out very thin,.
Prepare your Work Top or Work Board by rubbing Jem Petal Base/Trex over your board, knead a small amount of paste and roll out on to the board without lifting the paste so that it is quite thin about 1mm, then rub a little petal base over your Cutter press down firmly and lift, the paste should still be “stuck” to your Work Board, remove excess paste from your Letter or Shape picking out any inner bits and with a fine palette knife or scriber gently lift the letter/shape
A little tip: we Laminate a piece of A4 Paper and place the cut outs on here upside down to dry a little before using if you need to dust up your shape then don’t place it upside down as the petal base allows them to stick slightly to the laminate and you can dust or lustre them without them moving.
